Standard Blackjack

This is the game that most people will be familiar with.It’s the classic battle against the dealer. Whoever can get closest to 21 without going bust will win. The payouts can vary depending on the game that you choose and the hand that you get, so it’s important to check what they are before you begin playing. There are also slight variations in rules so that is another aspect that’s important to check. This is usually in regards to the surrender rule, the ability to split and the opportunity to double. Blackjack Switch

This is one of the most popular and common versions of Blackjack around. In this game players make two bets. Instead of being dealt a single hand, they will be dealt two hands. Once these two hands have been dealt the player can then choose to switch the second card in each hand if they like. So for example if a player is dealt two Aces in one hand and two Tens in another hand, they could switch the second cards to make both hands a natural Blackjack. This is a hugely popular version of the game for this very reason. The ability to turn two not great hands into two winning hands means that this game grabs the attention of players instantly.

There are some changes to the rules though. For example if the dealer has a 22 this is no longer a bust, it’s a push. Also, if the dealer gets a natural Blackjack then the dealer will win, no matter what the player hand is. So while there are some elements that swing it back into the favour of the casino, it’s also very popular due to the increased levels of strategy that are on offer.

Perfect Pairs Blackjack

This is at face value just standard Blackjack. However, it offers an additional side bet that players can take out on every hand. This side bet is based around you being dealt a pair for your initial hand. The side bet that you place has to be at least equal in value to your standard bet, although you can stake more if you like. The payouts on offer for Perfect Pairs Blackjack range from 5/1 to 30/1 depending on the pair that you are dealt. If you don’t want to play the side bet aspect of the game you can play it just as a normal Blackjack game. Also, if you place a side bet on your first hand you don’t have to place one on your next hand if you don’t want to. You can drop in and out as and when you like.

Double Exposure Blackjack

This is one of the most interesting variations of Blackjack that there is. In this version of the game the dealer doesn’t have a hole card. This doesn’t mean that the dealer is only dealt a single card to start, it means that the dealer is given both of the cards face up. This allows the player to instantly see what the dealer is holding, it makes it a lot easier to make your choices from there as you’re not guessing what the dealer has in the hole. There are some slight rule changes to shift it back in favour of the dealer, such as the dealer winning on a tie and a natural Blackjack doesn’t pay out 3/2 it pays out even money. However, this is quite a small price to pay for the ability to know exactly what you’re playing against.

Live Dealer Blackjack

Live dealer Blackjack is a hugely popular variant of the game. It offers players the chance to play against a real live dealer instead of a computer program. This is a much more immersive version of the game as it gives the real life casino experience without having to be there. There are also different variations of the rules available to players here, so you can choose from plenty of different ways to play Blackjack with live dealers.
